STREET PARKING Parking Meters - Throughout downtown Austin, parking meters are free after 5:30 pm, all day on weekends and on some holidays. Parking Meter Time Limits?- During the day, the time limits for these spaces vary. Common maximum parking time limits are 2 and 3 hours. Each meter is labeled with its maximum parking time limit as well as the hours and days that parking meter time limits are in effect. Parking Meter Fees - Unless otherwise posted, you must feed your meter (without exceeding the maximum time limit) Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm. Parking meters in Austin accept nickels, dimes and quarters. A quarter will usually get you about 10-15 minutes, but it can vary by location. Parking Meter Fee Exemptions (Free Parking) - The parking meter fee is waived on these holidays: |
