Education & Outreach

Your donations support the historic Paramount Theatre's Education & Outreach youth program - reduced price or free tickets to school-time performances, free in-classroom workshops taught by teaching artists, free study guides for each child participating and free teacher guides for each classroom that are specifically targeted to TEKS. Our new Literacy to Life program, our annual summer Camp Paramount, Skinny's Gallery where we give out thousands of free show tickets to over 40 non-profit organizations that serve underprivileged children, and Youth Theatre program where twenty low income students will have a paid, summer job to write, produce, and tour a theatrical production.

We work to engage children throughout Central Texas and challenge them to see theatre as not only entertaining, but also educational. So, by bridging the gap between the educational community (which has deemphasized the arts in an era of high stakes testing) and the theatre community (which can provide a unique approach to teaching literacy, Texas State academic standards, and engaging diverse learning styles), we can approach child development holistically and produce students that are more self-confident, empathetic, creative, and well-rounded.

Through the Paramount & State Theatre's Youth Outreach & Education programs, thousands of central Texas children gain access to the wonderful children's programming performed on our stages. Your contribution will help give area youth the opportunity to enjoy a cultural experience that no child should go without.
